Terms of Service.

By booking an appointment you acknowledge and agree to the following terms

At Paws At Main, your pet's safety and comfort are our top priorities. Grooming involves working with live animals, and reactions to the grooming process can vary. By booking an appointment, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.

Owner Responsibility

By leaving your pet in our care, you understand that grooming may involve certain risks due to behavior, health conditions (known or unknown), age, stress, or skin sensitivities. You assume responsibility for your pet while they are being groomed.

Paws At Main is not responsible for injury, illness, or complications resulting from a pet's behavior, medical condition, matting, age-related issues, or stress — except in cases of proven negligence.

Medical & Skin Conditions

We are not financially responsible for veterinary bills resulting from:

  • Pre-existing or underlying medical conditions
  • Stress-related reactions
  • Skin irritation, rashes, or sensitivities
  • Cuts to moles, skin tags, or abnormalities
If irritation is suspected from grooming products, we will offer one complimentary hypoallergenic bath. Additional medical care is the responsibility of the owner.

Matting & De-Matting Policy

Matting may require additional time beyond a standard grooming service. When extra time is needed to safely address matting, a matting fee may be applied based on the amount of additional time required. Matting fees are assessed as a percentage of the grooming service and typically range from approximately 15% to 50%.

Matting levels are determined during the grooming process based on time required, coat condition, and the pet's comfort and safety:

  • Light matting may require up to ~10 additional minutes
  • Moderate matting up to ~25 additional minutes
  • Severe matting 30 minutes or more
⚠️ In cases of severe matting, de-matting may not be humane or safe. A clip-down may be required, or the groom may be modified or discontinued. Matting fees may still apply even if the grooming service cannot be completed.

Sanitary Trims

Sanitary trims are included in every groom. Mild irritation or sensitivity may occur. Owners are responsible for monitoring excessive licking or scratching afterward.

Behavior & Handling

Some pets may require additional time, assistance, or handling due to stress, anxiety, or behavioral challenges. In these cases, a handling fee may be applied based on the level of care required. Handling fees are assessed as a percentage of the grooming service and typically range from approximately 15% to 50%.

Handling levels are determined during the grooming process based on time required, the level of assistance needed, and safety considerations. Factors may include resistance to handling, stress behaviors, inability to safely complete portions of the groom, or the need for additional breaks or support.

⚠️ For safety reasons, Paws At Main reserves the right to modify or discontinue a grooming service if a pet becomes unsafe to handle. Handling fees may still apply even if the service cannot be completed.

Grooming Time & Completion Policy

Grooming times vary by pet and are influenced by size, coat condition, behavior, and the services requested. For safety and quality reasons, Paws At Main does not guarantee completion times. All time estimates provided verbally, online, or at drop-off are approximations only.

Some pets may require additional time due to matting, handling needs, or comfort breaks. We do not rush grooming, as doing so may compromise the safety or well-being of the pet.

Clients are asked to allow flexibility in scheduling and to wait for notification that grooming is complete before arrival.

Pickup Policy

Pets must be picked up within 35 minutes of completion. A text notification will be sent when your pet is ready. Daycare fees apply after the 35-minute window.

Fleas, Ticks & Hygiene

Pets with fleas or ticks will be treated and charged accordingly. Excessive or uncontrollable bowel movements may require re-bathing and additional fees.

Corrections & Refunds

If you are unhappy with a haircut, you must notify us within 24 hours to schedule a correction. If a correction cannot be completed, only the haircut portion may be refunded.

A booking deposit is required to secure your appointment and is applied toward the cost of service.

Deposits are applied toward cancellation fees when applicable. Any remaining balance may be charged to the card on file. Appointments must be canceled through the scheduling link provided.

⚠️ Calls or messages outside business hours do not constitute notice. By booking an appointment, you authorize Paws At Main to charge the card on file for applicable cancellation or no-show fees.
